Day 3

As it is, as usual, after breakfast will be the Ensemble Performance but this year I had offered to the Singaporeans a spot for them to showcase their own ensemble called Mouradian St. Gabriel’s Guitar Ensemble.

Here is St Gabriel’s Secondary School teacher Mary Stevenson introducing the ensemble. The leader of the ensemble explains the name of their ensemble – Mouradian…

Here is Daniel and Justaine conducting the ensembles.

A token from St. Gabriel’s Secondary School presented by the ensemble members to Simon & Yee Hoo after their ensemble’s presentation.

After the St. Gabriel’s Guitar Ensemble performance, we have another special appearance by Jeremy Cheong.

With Jeremy completing his stint, comes the main course…the Participants Ensemble Performance.

Rounding off our Participant’s Ensemble Performance, a last special solo appearance is made by Chuah Yeong Chin.

Ending the activiities with this last performance, everyone looks forward to the lucky draw…wondering what’s in store for them!

Here are the committee members sorting things out and preparing the certificate presentation and lucky draw…

Christopher Cheong presented the first batch of certificates and we are happy to say that we were able to give a token gift as part of the lucky draw to every participant!

The certificate presentation ends and although the lucky draw was a part of the certificate presentation, it was a part whereby every participant gets something…

We had three main gifts – a book on the guitar, a guitar stand and the main prize, a guitar.

To add to the excitement of having ones name picked for the lucky draw, Manoon and Rafael gave us each of their CD’s as extra prizes…

To end the proceedings, to show our appreciation to our guests, Simon presented pennants to remember us by. The first was to thank St. Gabriel’s Secondary School for their participation in this camp, and an appreciation to Manoon Ploypradab & Rafael Serrallet for sharing with us their knowledge and expertise in this festival and camp.
As the camp ends, this premiere event that is organised here in Malaysia that is not found in the rest of South East Asia, gives the guitar enthusiasts in this region a chance to experience a summer school sort of event found in Europe right at their door steps.  In Malaysia, this camp features mainly on the participants providing them a learning experience that is truly invaluable in all ways – exposure, first hand performance experience, playing in ensemble, hearing professional concerts etc…

Below are more photos, saying our goodbyes are never easy as new friends are made, old acquaintances refreshed and now going our own ways again with an enriched sense of knowing more about the classical guitar after three days of guitar, guitar and guitar still…

That’s all folks! Whew! it was a hard time having to sift through all the photos and trying to having something to say… I have put in a whole lot of photos and I hope that you guys have all enjoyed yourselves… till then…

See you again at CGS International Guitar Festival & Camp 2012!
