Day 3
25 November 2007 Day 3 – Ensemble Performance – 9 a.m.
After all the practice, all the participants were really eager to put on a show for us. Each group trying to outdo the other in a friendly competitive mood. Trying to out do each other in such an environment is really beneficial. It makes one want to improve as much as possible and my advice to all the participants is to approach this with the attitude – ‘I will do better the next time’ for those who did not do too well and for those who played well – ‘I must capture onto what I did that succeeded and make sure that it can happen again’.
Well, once again, I have to mention the attitude of the participants. Their seriousness about being able to play well in their performance has brought the standards to a pretty decent level. They really did well for two days practice together on their ensemble piece. There was enough time in our schedule to slot in two one-and-the- half hour practice only… but it is obvious that they practiced on, on their own, into the wee hours of the night despite it is their free time as well as sacrificing their sleep! Good work done and I would like to congratulate all for a great performance.
The ensemble performance ended with a special request from this group to have the percussionists coming up from KL to give a few pieces. What great attitude, once again! The percussionists came up the night before so that they could join their group for a performance! Because… they want to perform!
25 November 2007 Day 3 – Certificate presentation and Lucky Draw.
Every participant receives a certificate as well as a lucky draw prize.
After every participant had received their certificates and lucky draw, it was time for the two grand prizes… two guitars to give away! Frank did the honours for the first guitar while Peter did the second. See the beaming smiles… from our two lucky winners!
The President giving a closing speech, thanking all the participants for making this camp great and successful as well as thanking Duolisme for being with us at this camp. After which Duolisme was presented with a pennant each for their memories of this camp.
25 November 2007 Day 3 – Sayonara…
For some of us, it was not over yet… here we are taking Frank and Peter around before descending the hill and back to KL.
