2004 - Those who follow feng shui will know that 2004 belongs to a period change. Entering the period of 8 for the next 20 years, this new period represents the Northeast, the mountain, young men, education...
For us at the Society, the winds of change have brought the Society back into action again. The year 1997 was the last year we held our guitar camps as turbulent world affairs caused a torrent of problems for businesses and the public at large. There were uncertainties and this trying time lasted for a few years. Although the last two or three years have seen the Malaysian economy picking up, it is only now that the Committee, which has been holding the fort, sees fit to revive the Society.
During these years of lull, many who had attended our camps and activities have been enquiring after our activities. Those who approached me, which included foreign artistes, have been turned down by a very simple answer - we do not have funds . Hopefully, with the health of the economy getting better and better, we will be able to find sponsors to fund our activities.
We are now starting again on a slow and careful footing without any grandiose ideas. Hence, our cherished Camp 2004 will not be a 2-night, 3-day affair at Fraser's Hill but a one-day camp in Petaling Jaya. As can be guessed, we do not have any sponsors and will have to depend on the charges collected from the participants of this camp. The charge for this camp is undeniably reasonable and affordable.
This camp promises to be very enjoyable since the Committee members have enthusiastically brainstormed and have come up with a lovely programme - a programme that would make everyone at the camp want to come back again and again. It would definitely be a memorable camp. So, don't be left out and be disappointed. See you there!
