Nutavut Ratanakarn and Ekachai Jearakul (Thailand)

 

Nutavut Ratanakarn (Festival Director)
Born 1981 in Thailand, Nutavut began his guitar lesson at 17. Hisprincipal teachers are Tawee Maneecharuthat, Vidhaya Vosbein, Kamol Adshariyasart, and Leon Koudelak. He was a prize winner in Thailand Yamaha Competition 1998 and 1999, Thailand Classical Guitar Competition 1999 arranged by Bangkok Guitar Society, and Thailand International Guitar Competition 2003. He has participated in International Guitar Competition Wien 2004.In early 2003, He graduated with first-class honor from Kasetsart University majoring in Classical Guitar Performance.He also received diploma from "Ligita" (Liechtenstein) and "Wien 2004" .He has participated in numerous master classes with many world-class and international guitarists, such as Alvaro Pierri, Eduarado Fernandez, Costas Cotsiolis, Paulo Bellinati, Pavel Steidl, Konrad Ragossnig, William Bower, Phillipe Villa, Jorgos Panetsos, Alessio Monti, Jury Clormann, Gareth Koch, Tomas Offermann, Jozef Zsapka ..

In 2002-2003 He played Guitar Concerto "Concerto De Aranjuez " With Bangkok Wind Symphony. He played concert, master class and member of jury many International Guitar Festival sush as Moisycos International Guitar Festival (Italy), Thailand International Guitar Festival , Kasetsart Guitar Festival,Bangkok International Guitar Festival. He has given many concerts and recitals in Austria, Italy, Korea, Liechtenstein, Nepal and Thailand. He has 2 record, "the Art of Spain", "DVD Live concert in korea"

 

Ekachai Jearakul

Ekachai started his guitar lesson with Kiattipong Tangsakul at yamaha Ubonratchatani at the age of 13. After that hemoved to Bangkok in 2003 to studies at college of music, Mahidol University where I study with Woragran Sangsombon.

He was a prize winner in Yamaha music festival 2003 (2nd) (junior category), Thailand International guitar competition 2003 (1st)(junior category) ,Youth music competition 2004 (Silver medal) Yamaha music festival 2004 (2nd)(senior category), Youth music competition 2005 ((Silver medal) , Yamaha music festival 2005 (1st), Au music competition 2005 (1st), Thailand International classical guitar competition 2005(3rd), National youth music competition in Thailand 2006(Golden medal), International guitar competition in France(Ile de Re') (3rd), International classical guitar competition in Russian style 2007(1st), finalist in Osaka International music and Singapore International guitar competition.

In 2005-2007 he played Guitar Concerto with with Dr. sax chamber orchestra, International orchestra of Italy, Seoul Phil harmony Orchestra. He has given many concerts and recitals in France, Japan, Korea, Russia, Thailand


Alessio monti (Italy)

Alessio Monti, guitarist and composer, began his first musical experiences in 1966, playing electric guitar in some famous pop italian groups and writing many songs against the war. Some years later, after his “rock experience”, he started to study classical guitar, and in 1983 he completed his formal studies in music at the L. Cherubini Conservatory of Florence obtaining the diploma with the highest marks and honour.

Extensive touring of the Orient has greatly influenced Alessio’s style and his research of Eastern philosophy leaves an indelible mark on the composer’s consciousness and music explorations.

His style is extremely innovative and will be of great interest to lovers of many genres, from minimalist to jazz, to Eastern and Western classical traditions.

Alessio has truly penetrated a creative space within himself that re-frames what can be done with guitar.

He is involved in intense artistic activity, participating in the most noteworthy international orchestras and festivals throughout Europe Asia, Africa, the Americas, with rave reviews from audience and press alike.

He has given Masterclasses at "Escuela Universitaria de Musica" (Montevideo), "Conservatorio A. Barrios" (Asuncion), "National Conservatory" (Nairobi), "Univerditade" (Rio de Janeiro), "India International Center" (New Delhi), "Hofstra University" (New York), "Conservatorio Nacional" (Santiago del Cile), "Bangkok Guitar Society", Bangkok, "Colegio Internacional Raimondi?", Lima (Peru). Cherubini Conservatore, Florence (Italy), Silipakorn University, Bangkok, Multimedia Hall Jakarta.

He has been invited to live record for many Radio and Television broadcasting in many countries.

Alessio’s ingenuity has him in high demand for teaching master classes, workshops and conferences abroad and in his native Italy.

The compositions on all 17 Alessio’s CDs, feature sitar, flute, clarinet, soprano sax, violin viola, violoncello, contrabass, percussion and electronic devices as well as solo guitar.

His biography with some of his works and his recording are now included in the “Encyclopaedia of the contemporary composers”, edited in Italy by Pagano Editor

Now he is working to put background music on the italian translation of “Bhagavad Gita”, the holy Hindu book that will be published in three Cd (acting and music) by “Esotheric Librairy” in Milan, Italy.


Yasuaki Hiura (Japan)

Yasuaki Hiura guitar lesson with Alavaro Pieri in France . He was a prize winer many international guitar competitions such as The championship in French Picardy Guitar Competition (1994) , Agustin Barrios International Guitar Competition (2004) ,Thailand international guitar competition(2004), Etc

He given concert and masteclass in Japan, Spanish, Italy, France,Thailand , Etc...


Ermanno Bottiglieri (Italy)
Ermanno Bottiglieri born in Siracusa (Italy) and began guitar lessons at 11 with Nello Alessi, and graduated with Paolo Nicolosi at Conservatorio Vincenzo Bellini of Palermo. He attended the masterclasses of: O. Ghiglia, A. Minella, M. Barrueco and R. Chiesa. Winner of many National and International Guitar Competitions (Riviera in Musica (Italy) 1993 - 1 st prize, Amici della Musica (Italy) 1994 - 1 st prize, Musica Rara (Italy) 1994 - 1 st prize, Savona International Guitar Competition (Italy) 1997 - 2 nd prize, 39 th Tokyo International Guitar Competition 1996 - 4 th prize, etc.) started the concert performance career in 1984 and played in Italy, Argentine, Russia, Japan, Vietnam. Since 1998 live in Japan. In 2000, in Japan, founded the Moisycos Music Edition and in 2005 the Moisycos Intercultural Institue in Italy. He has a intensive solo concerts activity and since 1997 played in regular duo that after 2000 became the Moisycos Guitar Duo. As soloist he recorded the cd I and Me, and as Moisycos Guitar Duo recorded three cds J. K. Mertz  15 th duets, “Night by Night and Rossini  Ouvertures. In January 2001 he receved from the Mayor of Siracusa the important Aretusa Prize for his intensive and appreciate international career of classic guitarist. He teachs in regular masterclass in Italy, Russia and Japan and is a member of Jury in important Guitar Competitions. Several composers have dedicated works to him: M. Iamone, F. Cavallone, D. Caruso, D. Ficco, C. Lacertosa.

WASU PHUTRAISOPHON (Thailand) , Winner of Bangkok International Guitar Festival 2007

Wasu started his guitar lesson at 14 with Santi Kaewjai at Siam Kolkarn Nakornratchasima Music School. Later he studies with Tawee Maneejaruthas. Now he is studying in College of Music at Mahidol University with Suvich Klinsmith and Worakarn Saengsomboon.

He was winer winer in 1st prize winner of Yamaha Thailand Music Festival (Junior) , second prize winner of Thailand International GuitarCompetition ( Junior) ,1st prize winner of Yamaha Thailand Music Festival (Senior),1st prize winner of Bangkok international Guitar Festival 2007, 1st Au music competition


Jose Manuel Dapena (Spain)

According to the German magazine Staccato, "... Jose Manuel plays very confidently. At all times the sensation that he guides us through his music with great transparency prevails." Classical Guitar magazine said about his debut in England, "... scored full marks in a very memorable performance ... displayed a range of technical expertise and delicate emotions ... a secure technique, a beautiful tone and imaginative interpretational skills ..." Critics in the USA have noted Mr. Dapena as, " ... a talented guitarist and an artistic proponent of the Spanish culture ... a great Spanish master of the guitar ... a player with stirring musicality."

His repertoire is especially diverse, ranging from transcriptions of Bach and other earlier composers to works of the present day. He also has a unique interest in presenting monographic concert programs. His latest work in this field has been a recital including the complete sonatas of Fernando Sor and Joaquin Turina's complete works for solo guitar to commemorate the 50th year after this composer's passing. Turina's grandson Jose Luis, also a noted composer said: "He possesses an extensive musical background, in written as well as in analytical aspects, which enhances his brilliant professional career."
As a Musiclas International artist, he has recorded his debut CD: "Rincon magico – Spanish music by Joaquin Turina on original manuscripts."
He has broadcasted on numerous radio stations in Europe and the United States, one of which was a complete live concert on New England's largest classical radio station WGBH (Boston). In print he has been interviewed in London by Classical Guitar magazine and in Tokyo by Gendai Guitar.

In 2006, uniting his sixth concert tour in the United States, fifth in Europe and second in Japan, he presented music for guitar from 1936 to 1939 by Antonio Jose, J. Turina and J. Rodrigo. This program, for his first world tour, was presented in remembrance of the 70th anniversary of the Spanish Civil War for audiences in New York, London and Tokyo.
Since Jose Manuel Dapena first began studying the classical guitar he took classes in Spain with David Russell who had a great influence on his conception of the instrument and wrote: "He is an excellent player with a strong warm tone, agile technique and is able to bring magic to the musical phrases." Dapena also studied under Manuel Barrueco at the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, Maryland.
Upcoming highlights in the US and Europe for the 2007/2008 season include debuts at Carnegie Hall and Wigmore Hall sponsor by the Spanish Embassy and Instituto Cervantes.

Ek-karach Charoennit (Thailand)

Ek-karach Charoennit grduated Master of Art Majior in Music Education from University of the Philippines and University of Santo Tomas with Merit Grade,and was assistiance professor ofguitar. His experience in teaching music spans almost 20 years. He is interrested in arranging music for guitar and computer. In 2002 he published two CD albums entitled " Oriental Expression " and " Love "Ek-karach Charoennit currently acts as Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Music, Silpakorn University.
