110. Simon Cheong gave his session after tea. The session comprised mainly advice given on various issues although Simon had wanted this to be more a Q&A session. He mentioned that Malaysians have a tendency to be non-interactive in Q&A sessions and hoped that they would learn to be more interactive. They should actively want to take part in whatever discussion or debate without being urged to.
111. Jovy was a classic example of such a person last year and this year she has learnt and very sportingly and willingly went on stage to play with very little urging. She wasn't afraid that she would fumble or have memory lapses...keep it up!
112. The Kuala Lumpur Guitar Ensemble II came up to play an impromptu A Day in November in which each member played different sections of the piece.
Introducing our artiste-in-residence, Matthew McAllister from Scotland... in his inaugural Malaysian performance - but oh oh... his concert is cancelled! He will be replaced by Mr Fraser himself since this hill is named after him (a Scotsman who discovered this hill and then got himself lost in the jungle and was never found!) but presenting himself in the form of Matthew.
Jokes aside, here's Ernest again presenting Matthew. Ah yes, it's Matthew indeed and not Mr Fraser - we've got the right Scotsman. Indeed I knew that to be the case the moment the first note was played. Accolades and it's autograph time again. The recital ended and here's Datuk Dr Victor Wee testing out Matthew's guitar. Curtain closes...

The third day...
The final morning was filled with anticipation and excitement for the participants who aimed to do well in their ensemble performance...hold it... there were still some solos to go as there were many who want to play yesterday but we did not have enough time. Everyone was looking forward to the lucky draw too and wondering who the lucky ones were going to be...? This year every participant got away with goodies as we were able to get enough gifts from donors for the lucky draw .The two grand prizes were guitars...who would walk away with them?
Here's the spill-over solo participants' concert.
123 & 124. Once again ending with a duet.
125, 126 & 127. Surprise! Immediately after the solo participants' concert, Eric and May Ling present us a violin and guitar duet. Here's another perspective for the participants - not only do they play the guitar as a solo instrument or in an ensemble of guitars but with other instruments too.
Another surprise presentation! Eric serenades while Thiam Foo tries his best to win Jovy's heart with a rose
After a few surprises, finally, here's the participants' ensemble performance.

A special appearance by Datuk Dr Victor Wee. When requested to play with the participants by taking over two participants' parts (the two chaps had to leave the night before due to some unforeseen circumstances), Datuk was ever so sporting. Seen in pictures 135 & 136, he enjoyed himself leading the ensemble. An impromptu performance as the participants wanted him to play. After his solo, an encore was requested and as I know him to enjoy singing as well, a song was requested. Picture 148 shows the proud owner of a new Contreras.
Well, the ensemble performance ended with a big bang. All the participants played together in the closing piece.
Photos galore! Everyone let their hair down during the photo session. Memories may fade but photos serve as remembrance of important occasions, right? Cameras were clicking away and poor Matthew's face was practically suffering from cramps from having to smile unendingly for the cameras.
