Guitar Camp 2005 - Another guitar camp? YES - this is organised by ASK (Akademi Seni Kebangsaan). It is their second camp, the first was in 2003. Those of you who have attended our own camp will find this really different. There will be a mixture of playing styles and the classical guitar will have a small role here only.

I am appreciative of the fact that ASK has invited me to conduct the workshop and I would like to thank them. In fact, Encik Ramlan (head of the music department) has even invited me to give a recital there sometime in May next year. I accepted the offer, not a solo but with my ensemble - Kuala Lumpur Guitar Ensemble II.

As I had attended the meeting and was given a working paper on this camp, the objectives (as in Kertas Konsep) of this camp are -

• Untuk memperkenalkan sejarah dan perkembangan alat musik, teknologi dan material dalam pembuatan alat muzik guitar.
• Mempertingkatkan minat dan persefahaman dalam permainan guitar dan apresiasi kepada genre lagu yang dimainkan.
• Memberi pendedahan dan pengetahuan dalam bermain guitar mangikut teknik dan stail yang pelbagai.

Borang Penyertaan "Guitar Camp" (Registration Form) should reach ASK by 21 November 2005 with a cheque addressed to "Akuan Amanah Akedemi Seni Kebangsaan"
